FAQs

Will these refrigerators work in my off-grid cabin or cottage?

Yes, absolutely. Our propane refrigerators are specifically engineered for off-grid living. They require no electricity to run the cooling system—only a standard propane connection. The interior lights typically run on battery power (often D-cell batteries), ensuring you have modern refrigeration even in the most remote locations.

Do I need to vent these refrigerators outside?

Proper ventilation is critical for both safety and performance. Because these units use a propane flame, they must be installed in a space with adequate airflow to prevent carbon monoxide buildup and to allow heat to escape. While some smaller models can be used in large, open rooms with a CO detector, we highly recommend following the specific manufacturer's guide for venting, especially if you are installing the unit inside a cabinet or tight space.

Can I use these in an RV or Camper?

It depends on the model. Most of our large "upright" units are designed for stationary use in cabins and must be perfectly level to operate correctly. They are not designed to withstand the vibrations of a moving vehicle. If you need a fridge for a moving RV, please check if the specific model is "RV Certified" or consider a 12V DC compressor model instead.

How do you ship such large appliances safely?

We use specialized freight carriers experienced in handling heavy appliances. Your refrigerator will be strapped to a wooden pallet and protected with heavy-duty packaging to prevent movement or impact damage during transit.

What happens if it arrives damaged?

We have you covered, but you play a key role. You must inspect the box and unit while the driver is still present. If you see any damage, note it on the delivery receipt or refuse the shipment entirely. If you note the damage upon arrival, we can file a claim and get a replacement sent to you immediately at no extra cost to you.

Is delivery to my door or curbside?

Standard freight shipping is Curbside Delivery. The driver will lower the pallet to the ground at the end of your driveway. Because these units are heavy (often 200–300 lbs), we recommend having a dolly and a friend ready to help you move it into its final spot in your cabin.
