Integrarack IR-45ASAB Adjustable Seasonal Angle BallastRack™ Solar Module Racking System
The IR-45ASA is available in black zinc electroplated high-strength steel (IR-45ASAB) and offers all of the same great features of our other BallastRack Systems with the ability to be set closer to the exact angle needed for maximum performance in your region. This system is designed to rack very large solar modules, even 550W solar panels are no match for the IR-45ASA Racking System. With 4 innovative mounting options available to choose from, even soft sand or super rocky terrain is no problem at all for lightning-fast install times. Each IR-45ASA Frame can be assembled in less than 2 minutes, and with its unbelievable ability to rack very large solar panels, this system is by far the most cost-effective ground mount racking system on the market today. Unlike some ground mounting systems, the IR-45ASA doesn't require any concrete footings, post pounded poles, or hand shoveling dirt into small bins. The IR-45ASA solar module ground mount racking system is made from 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum, so it’s much stronger, lighter weight and more compact to ship than any other racking system on the market. The 15-45° adjustable angle can be seasonally adjusted to offer optimal year-round energy production across most regions around the world, and with its easy to slide adjustable solar module height feature, it offers great ground clearance and a great angle for fast snow shedding. With extensive lab testing and engineering, and backed by a 25 year limited product warranty, this system is perfect for any project.

Features:
- Lightning Fast Seasonal Angle Adjustment - The IR-45ASA is designed to allow one person to adjust the sun angle in just 1 minute per solar panel and each panel can be set anywhere from 15-45°. The adjustable legs of the frame are marked every 5° so you can quickly and easily set your system at the perfect angle to achieve the best possible efficiency all year-round. The range of this system means that it can be used across the globe and still reach the ideal sun angle.
- Full Assembly & Installation In Just 10 Minutes Per Solar Module- With its simple “U” shaped tubular aluminum rack frame design, each IR-45ASA structural frame section can be assembled in less than 2 minutes, and the full start to finish installation time can be completed in less than 10 minutes per solar module section from frame assembly, to mounting or ballasting, to module installation and final slide height adjustment. This makes the IR-45ASA 6x faster than traditional solar ground mount systems.
- Universal Mounting - The IR-45ASA is the most technologically advanced solar racking solution in the industry. Its extremely universal rack frame design can be mounted in 4 different ways with very large solar modules. Extremely rocky or challenging soil conditions are no match for the IR-45ASA as it can be mounted using the available IR EarthBallast™ System, IR AnchorSpike™ System, or simply anchor bolt the base frame directly to a concrete ballast slab, patio, cargo container or rooftop steel beam. The IR-45ASA can even be Ballasted with concrete curb stops or flat style water tanks for permanent or temporary mounting solutions. This system also offers adjustable height for solar modules as they can be slid up and down along the flange clamps.
- Lowest Cost Per kW - The IR-45ASA is the most cost effective seasonally adjustable solar racking system on the market with its fast, easy installation and its ability to rack very large solar panels. It is also much more versatile than other competing ground mount systems, and ballasted ground mounting options, as it does not require hours of shoveling dirt into a small opening, making it by far the lowest installed cost per Watt option on the market today. It’s multi-purpose design allows this rack frame system to be utilized in a multitude of solar racking solutions, while being easy to warehouse and inexpensive to ship in a 16 pound, 48x5x5 inch package.
- Capable of Racking Very Large Solar Modules - The IR-45ASA BallastRack System is capable of racking the largest residential panels up to 28 sq ft., covering most panels up to 550 Watts . Each solar module that is racked sets the width between each frame section, and calculating space between frames is easy. Simply space the base tubes of the IR-45ASA frames exactly 1 inch less than the width of your solar modules.
- High-Strength Engineered & Tested For Class Leading Performance - The IR-45ASA has been extensively engineered and outdoor lab tested with simulated real world wind and snow load conditions by Phoenix National Laboratories, a 50 state accredited testing lab. With its aircraft grade 6061 T6 tubular aluminum or high-strength steel frame, it is capable of withstanding incredible wind and snow loads (see online datasheet for more detailed specs).
MOUNTING OPTIONS
- Base Ballast Mounting - Each IR-45ASA can be mounted using sand bags, water tanks, concrete blocks, or concrete curb stops, but concrete cap blocks are the most cost effective for internal frame ballast material. IntegraRack “BallastRack” solar panel racking frames, when ballasted in accordance with our published data sheets, are considered temporary/movable retail finished, pre-engineered backyard accessory fixture. Therefore, according to IBC, they do not require a building permit, so long as the racking fixture is not over 5 feet 9 inches (1753 mm) in height (see Chapter 1, Section [A] 105.2 of the 2018/2021/2024 International Building Code (IBC®)). Furthermore, the BallastRack solar panel rack frames can also be used for the storage of tools, water tanks, or other storage items, while utilizing the solar panels themselves as the weather shelter.
- *If you need to achieve a higher wind speed rating for your installation, you might want to consider our Concrete BallastSlab™ mounting option.
- *In some counties, anchoring the system with bolts, on concrete footings, or other anchoring systems may require engineering and/or a building permit.
- *Some counties may have different requirements for classifying temporary structures. Please check with your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

IR EarthBallast™ Mounting System - Our IR EarthBallast mounting option is ideal for most terrain types, particularly when excess soil or crushed rock is available on-site. The geotextile fabric creates a trampoline effect when it's pulled tight and has a minimum 2" air gap above the ground before the soil or rock is placed on the geotextile fabric. This is what creates the down force for holding the frames down in high wind situations. A skid-steer loader or tractor can be used to evenly distribute earth fill over the included geotextile material that is stretched across and epoxied to the top of each solar rack frame prior to the solar panels being installed, creating a strong heavy ballast with a clean and natural look when completed. The EarthBallast system can also be used with sand bags for ballast. PRO TIP: Ballast with light sand or crushed light colored rock for increased bifacial gain
- *1" Conduit Pipe / EMT (NOT included) is required to link the frames together and can be sourced at any local hardware or electrical supply store. Our Base Tube Composite Pipe can also be used instead of EMT.
- *We recommend using this system with two 3/4" round concrete forming steel stakes for each frame to provide added strength and easy leveling of the system.

IR AnchorSpike™ Mounting System - Each IR EarthScrew Kit includes ten screws to install up to five frames. This kit provides fast and easy installation and leveling in almost any terrain with incredible strength.
- *The IR EarthScrew is not recommended for silt/sand or rocky terrain, only dense compacted soil types.
- *Each IR EarthScrew must be tested in soil at installation site to ensure they can withstand a minimum of 1,000 pounds of uplift.
- *Professional installation recommended
-
Concrete Slab/Footing Anchor Bolt Mounting System - Our IR AnchorSpike Kit provides enough materials to install up to 10 solar modules with this mounting option, and comes with our specially designed 30 inch barbed aluminum spikes and a super strong two part epoxy. The IR AnchorSpikes have a hollow structure with open barbs that allow the epoxy to flow deep into the soil and create a solid anchor rated for over 1,000 pounds of uplift per spike. Once in place, each IR-45ASA frame is designed to clamp onto two AnchorSpikes when the carriage bolts at the ends are tightened, which allows for fast and easy leveling of the system.
- *IR AnchorSpike must be tested in soil at installation site to ensure it can withstand a minimum of 1,000 pounds of uplift.
